Speed measurement limits

The Internet Speed Test runs only when you choose Start and transfers at most approximately 15.25 MiB per run, excluding headers and ping responses. It measures the route between your browser and the IP Lens server; Wi-Fi, distance, browser behavior, server load, PHP, proxies and hosting limits can lower results below the ISP's advertised speed. It is not certification of your plan's speed. The application processes payloads transiently and does not persist payloads or results.

Download uses GET /api/speed?bytes=N, bounded to 64 KB–8 MB and 60 requests per 10 minutes; upload uses POST /api/speed-upload with application/octet-stream, up to 4 MB and 10 requests per 10 minutes. A fast full test can consume up to three download samples. Limits apply separately per caller-derived HMAC key in rolling windows.

Informational service

IP Lens provides technical estimates and diagnostic signals for general information. Results are not legal, security or identity advice and should not be the sole basis for an important decision.

No guarantee of accuracy

IP geolocation can be approximate or outdated. VPN, proxy, hosting, WebRTC, IPv6, DNS and speed results depend on third-party data, browser behavior and network conditions. A passed check is not proof of anonymity or security.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to overload infrastructure, evade rate limits, scan third parties, violate privacy or break applicable law. Automated or commercial API use requires a separate production policy and authentication layer.

Availability and changes

The service may change, pause or remove features. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on an estimate, interruption or third-party service.
